About

I made this zine my sophomore year of college. The project was to design a zine that will be formatted as a visual narrative that demonstrates a progression. I wanted my topic to be something fun and girly, while also telling a story. I chose the topic of Women in Pop, because hello! Women! Women with beautiful voices!

Initially it was supposed to be a zine shaped as a circle to replicate a record, but.. that didn’t work so well for me. The process itself was fun, I got to research influential singers dating back to the 50’s and put a face on some iconic faces like Connie Francis. I also really enjoyed that it was something I wanted to do, instead of being assigned something lame.

When this project for the website as assigned I immediately knew I wanted to go back to my zine because it’s so cutie. If it’s something I genuinely enjoyed doing, why wouldn’t I choose it?

As for the process of the website itself.. maybe I can make a rant video once I’m out of here. ♡
